The most iconic Japanese sports car of the 90s!

by Pete on 5/31/2018 9:37:47 PM

In contemporary 1990, this car toppled the world and automotive magazines with massive power, sleek styling, superb engineering, and a modern, tasteful interior. The 2nd generation (Z32) 300ZX was internally referred to as Project 901 which stood for 1990-number 1 sports car. Nissan engineers reached this goal with a Ferrari-beating DOHC 3.0-liter twin turbo V6, churning out 300hp and 283 lbft of torque, which could launch the RWD car from 0-60 in 5 seconds flat. Engine aside, the car features 4 wheel steering, sport and touring suspension modes, and a limited slip differential. For all of its performance, the car was lauded as comfortable, with great air conditioning, high-end interior surfaces, a great sound system, and the chairs straight off Picards USS Enterprise-D. Though the goal was to produce the number 1 sports car, the resulting 300ZX TT is acknowledged today as more of a GT car with track handling. The engine was over engineered enough to remain relevant today, and can be modified to produce super car power, while remaining reliable. Many of these cars have been abused or heavily modified. The prices for unmodified examples are beginning to climb, as this car approaches classic status. The 300ZX is reliable, but can be temperamental, especially in TT form. Do not work on this car without doing the research first. The 90s sports car scene is dominated by superbly engineered Japanese cars. Like the 240Z before it, the 300ZX lead the charge of the 1990s sports car revolution.

balling on a budget? this car is for you!

by Nate on 1/31/2017 3:04:34 PM

This started for me when my friend got his 95 for $2000 about a year ago. I was a little skeptical at first, it was a 21 year old sports car, it had to have issues. But it didn't, it ran like a top. it was some much fun to ride in i had to have one, and ever since i purchased mine for a 02 TrialBlazer and $400 cash, i haven't looked back. But when (there is no if about this car) you go to buy yours, keep in mind they are 20+ year old cars, and you can expect some minor issues.be sure to check all of your electronics and gauges. but if you're passionate about cars, want something cheap to make into a baller street car, this is the car for you.
